i’m sitting down now putting pen to paper just trying to think of something
else to say
but instead of words come pictures like stills from a movie
or reruns of an episode I’m trying to erase
so I jot it down kind of sketch it out and it looks like the present I once
knew

wonder where my days have gone as it’s turning towards the dawn
i know it’s time to move along but it’s dark
after all is said and done I still end where I’ve begun

why do I bother there’s other fodder more relevant and pressing still to say
there’s war and inaction and disaffection and ignorance and hatred
and injustice to name away
see I’ve tried it all tried to switch my mind’s track but it seems that all I got
is only one
